We are pleased to be able to offer another two excellent Careers opportunities in the new year, thanks to ELSA Next Generation whom we’ve worked with for some years.
As part of our Careers programme we hosted our annual Futures Fair recently, when all students from Years 9 to 13 had the chance to meet local and national employers plus Further & Higher Education institutions and find out about possible career paths.
Ten students from Years 7 - 10 joined the Diana Award Ambassador programme, which gives young people the skills and confidence to become ambassadors to tackle bullying in their schools.
An amazing set of results at the recent District cross-country competition, with the Year 9 team coming 2nd and the Years 7, 8, 10 and Senior teams all coming 1st.
We now have the final outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection, and we're delighted to say we received an Outstanding judgement in every area reported on.
Following nominations from our Charity Prefects across the school, we have narrowed down the many superb charities and are very pleased to announce that this year HGS will be supporting Happy Days Children's Charity and Hitchin Pantry.
Talk the Talk were in school this week to run their spoken communication workshops for our Year 7s and Year 13s, with activities designed to promote confident communication, self-esteem, resilience and a better relationships.
