Year 9 Holocaust talk
Our Year 9 students were lucky enough to have a visit and talk from the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, Maralyn.
Year 9 were captivated by her father's story, particularly the part about the potatoes and spoon - we will let you ask them about the details. Here are some of their comments and reflections:
"It was interesting to find out about how lucky Maralyn's dad was - especially the potato story."
"I like the combination of Maralyn talking and then video clips of her father."
"I thought it was very relevant to today, especially finding out about how the UK welcomed Maralyn's dad as a refugee after World War II."
Our thanks to Maralyn and Generation 2 Generation for facilitating this poignant experience for our students.
