Paediatric Pathways
The NHS Virtual Allied Healthcare Work Experience offers a unique opportunity for aspiring healthcare professionals. It's a rare occasion for students to hear from an exceptional guest speaker with a wealth of knowledge and insights to share, to better the understanding of the allied healthcare field.
Our speaker will provide invaluable guidance to help these future professionals embark on their dream healthcare careers. Following the talk, students will have an intimate look at the healthcare industry in the LIVE virtual work experience, delving into the many roles allied healthcare has to offer and taking an in-depth look at patient care by following the journeys of two patients from incident through to treatment.
The NHS Allied Healthcare Work Experience is the largest programme for aspiring healthcare professionals, having successfully invited over 12,000 students to participate in its programme last academic year - many of which have gone on to study:
Nursing
Midwifery
Paramedicine
Physiotherapy
Occupational Therapy
Dietetics
Radiography
Prosthetics and Orthotics
Speech and Language Therapy
Pharmacy
Places are £10 a session to cover administrative and technological costs, or £50 for the full 6 months (rolling programme).

The CMS Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship is designed for non-law graduates, offering a unique pathway to become a fully qualified solicitor within just 36 months.
CMS is a leading international law firm, and this programme blends real-world experience with academic study, allowing participants to "earn while they learn." Students will work four days a week across various practice areas and spend one day studying with the University of Law, preparing for their Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE).

Comprehensive Training: Students gain hands-on experience in areas such as corporate law, litigation, and finance, with full support from mentors, supervisors, and a junior lawyer buddy.

Digdata is thrilled to announce free virtual work experience events with National Highways. These career challenges are designed to develop key employability skills such as problem-solving, data literacy, storytelling and presentation. Hosted on Microsoft Teams, the sessions take place outside of school hours, making them easily accessible.

Unilever - Unilever's diverse apprenticeship programmes offer hands-on experience and nationally recognised qualifications across various fields. With opportunities from Level 3 to degree apprenticeships, students will gain valuable skills and support while shaping their future. Apply now for September 2025.

Airbus - Airbus pioneer safe and sustainable aerospace from passenger jets to satellites. Their 2025 apprenticeship opportunities are now live and offer valuable practical training from Level 3-6 at sites across the UK. BBC - Apprenticeships are now open for 2025 applicants! From degree apprenticeships in digital user experience and data science to Level 5 journalism and Level 3 broadcast and media systems, the BBC has a role and location to suit all students. A second wave of opportunities will launch in December including business, marketing and production opportunities. Salary starting from £21,840.

British Airways - These apprenticeships are designed to give students the best possible career launch into British Airways' Customer, Business, and Operations teams. From Aspiring Leader and Business Professional programmes to Aircraft Engineer and Customer Service apprenticeships, there's opportunities at different qualification levels. Salaries range from £16,916 to £26,900.

Higher Education Choices Open Evening
On Wednesday 4 December from 4pm until 6.30pm the university will be hosting a Higher Education Choices Open Evening at our Bedford & Luton campuses. The evening is slightly more informal than the usual open days, but will give students the chance to meet academic staff and explore the facilities.
We also have a programme of talks designed to support students and their parents/carers with their decision-making around university and higher education. Throughout the evening there will be talks about:
